I tried my hands at food typography and it was great fun! I chose two words, one in English and the other in Hindi. The brief was to try and illustrate the essence of these words using food. My chosen words were 'beans' and 'taaza'. 'Taaza' means 'fresh' in English.
The minute I thought of the best way of representing taaza, my mind was flooded with visuals of fresh vegetables. I picked out vibrant, colorful, fresh fruits and vegetables and carefully composed my frame, spelling taaza in the middle. Needless to say, I did not get it right in the first go, here are my failed attempts.
However, I did get there eventually! Here's a stop motion video of how I got to my final outcome. For my final frame, I used grapes to spell taaza, the color of grapes was in perfect contrast with the background of the jute bag, easily found in vegetable markets. Using grapes increased the readability.
For my second word, 'beans', I used the popular phrase 'spill the beans'. I used various pulses and beans to bring contrast and make the word pop.
Hope you enjoyed my pun, now go, run and check out my other projects!
